Newfoundland- July 2026: The Bonavista Peninsula: we spend the night in Gander next to a bunch of old planes and then drive up the peninsula to see the puffins. We observed them for a long time, they are cute and a bit goofy! We ended the day at Dungeon Provincial Park, a UNESCO geosite.

Nova Scotia - July 2026: The Cabot Trail…there is a lot of hype out there about the Cabot trail, it seemed like it was a must do drive on the east coast… but, we couldn’t figure out what all the hype was about, there is absolutely no “wow” factor, and it felt a bit like a waste of time. We ended up driving the entire loop in a day and then headed to the ferry for NL on Sidney. If you want a scenic coastal drive in the east, do the Gaspe Peninsula instead…
