Catching those genuine, joyful smiles starts with dropping the word “Cheese!” 🍁✨

If you’ve ever tried forcing a high-energy toddler to sit perfectly still in a field near Airdrie, Irricana, or Calgary, you know it’s a fast track to a meltdown. I do things a little differently here at Lovestruck Portraits!

Instead of rigid posing, I lean into play:
Tickle wars and racing through the fall leaves
Quiet snuggles and exploring the tall grass

Ali and Jason’s chemistry last night was pure magic, making it so easy to capture that perfect mix of playful candids and sophisticated, artistic shots. They wanted an urban look for their photos, which meant running across streets, dodging traffic, and completely leaning into the energy of the city!

Despite the unpredictable weather we’ve been having, the rain held off long enough to give us some of the absolute dreamiest golden hour light I’ve seen in months. The skies literally opened up over Calgary just ten minutes after we wrapped. Having their dog Bruce pop in for a few photos was the best bonus, too! If last night was any preview of what’s to come, capturing their wedding next year is going to be unforgettable.

One ring to rule them all, but one day to celebrate them! 💍✨
Yesterday, Micah & Zach tied the knot in the most magical, Lord of the Rings-themed wedding. From the "No Admittance Except on Party Business" sign to the custom centerpieces and cake, every single detail was straight out of Middle-earth.
The weather behaved perfectly, and the venue had endless unique spots for photos—complete with the bride and groom rocking elf ears in a few shots! 🧝‍♂️🧝‍♀️ It truly was the perfect day for two amazing soulmates.

Ohhhhhhh I can not wait to edit the photos from there wedding!!!!! Today was simply magical!!!!!! And IT DIDN’T RAIN!!!!!! There lotr theme wedding fit just perfectly…… thehehehe complete with elf ears and all :)

Zoey & Dominik’s wedding day was truly one for the books. They tied the knot at Zoey’s childhood home—a place that will forever hold a special piece of her heart—surrounded by their favorite people, delicious BBQ, and their adorable pup Maggie, who made the day extra complete! 🐾💖

The weather could not have been more perfect. We even snuck out to a nearby farmer’s field to capture those dreamiest portraits! 🌾📸
One of my absolute favorite moments of the day had to be the grand exit—it was actually my first time ever seeing guests toss a mix of candy and rice at the couple as they walked down the aisle, and it was so fun and unique! 🍬🌾
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs.! Wishing you both (and Maggie!) a lifetime of love and happiness! 💕✨

Some weddings are beautiful, but Olivia & Nathan’s was purely, deeply them ✨
Every single corner of this day was woven with personal touches:

The Location: They chose a ceremony spot overlooking the reservoir at the rowing club—the very place where Olivia has spent hundreds of hours on the water. Taking their portraits right by the Glenmore Sailing Club made it feel so full-circle ⛵

The Florals: Straight from the heart (and the soil)—all of the stunning flowers were hand-picked directly from Olivia’s own garden 🌸
The Ring Bearer: Nathan’s pup stole the show and officially carried the rings down the aisle 🐾

The Dress: Olivia wore a completely custom gown that was an absolute showstopper. The coolest part? This exact design is being brought to stores, so future brides will be able to wear it! 👗✨

Surrounded by their favorite people in the park, their ceremony was sweet, simple, and perfectly complete—followed by a night of celebrating at Wild Rose Brewery! 🍻
