October is Small Business Month.
Recently, a past client (and still wonderful connection!) wrote these words to me:
āSomething which always shines through from you, both in person and online through your business - your genuine love for local, and your passion for helping small businesses grow and thrive. Itās really special ā„ļøā„ļøā„ļøā
If I wasnāt living in a tiny remote community, Iām pretty sure I would have a shop filled with wares by all the small businesses I adore and know. People would come there because they know every piece theyād touch, Iād go āoh let me tell you aboutā¦ā with so much enthusiasm, that thing would no longer be a necklace or mug or dishcloth to them. It would be the story of the people and place who made it. Iām sure a lot of people wouldnāt come into the store for fear that thatās the kind of service they would get š
I love my people. The small business owners, what they are crafting and creating and dreaming. Iāll move mountains to support those who I care about.
And I hope Iām inspiring you to do the same! Hereās how Iām committing to supporting small businesses in October, maybe you can do some of these too:
š showing up at their events
š spending money at small, independent businesses
š telling the world about them, even if I wasnāt able to buy: sharing in my stories, sending texts, tagging in comments
š writing an honest Google review (Iām going to try and commit to sitting down and writing 5 a week this month!)
š sending them a personal message, so they remember how awesome they are
Iām going to spread some love with tags of businesses that I love to support and others Iām really hoping to support soon. Iād love if you did the same so we can all check each other out and build the bonds in our small biz communities š¤š¤
