Almost every time a family books a newborn session I hear one of these things:

1. “Sorry, my house is such a mess right now!”
The truth: You do not need to deep clean your house. I only need one cozy corner or a clear window with good light to make magic.

2. “My toddler won’t sit still or cooperate.”
The truth: Toddlers are curious, energetic little people they aren’t supposed to sit still! I never expect them to, and the candid, unscripted moments are always the sweetest anyway.
3. “What if the baby won’t sleep during the shoot?”
The truth: Your baby doesn’t need to sleep! Some babies sleep the entire time, while others stay wide awake. Both are completely normal and equally beautiful to capture.

4. “I don’t look or feel ready to be in the photos.”
The truth: Parents belong in the frame. You might be exhausted and not feeling quite like yourself, but I promise you’ll look back on these photos years from now and be so grateful you were in them.
