Back on International Woman's day I had the pleasure of capturing a scream session at Tin Can Beach in the rain. The organizers painted each other in the official colour of Woman's Day, the women all wrote what they were angry about on a piece of paper and placed in a mason jar and let it all out. It was a very powerful event which is meant to bring attention to the fact that society is less accepting of woman's anger than mens.

Six months ago at Future Forest, David Wally Rawalia handed me a 35mm film camera and a single roll of B&W film and told me to shoot. No screen, no feedback, just a light meter, framing the subject, and committing.

I just got the scans back, and I can feel the difference. The grain, the dynamic range, the way highlights fall off. Film forced me to slow down and be intentional. Grateful for the chance to step outside my usual workflow and capture the festival in a completely different way.

Attended my first Art Battle capturing artists racing the clock and creating live in front of a crowd. Twenty minutes, raw creativity, and the energy of the room deciding the winner, always a great environment to capture. I'll definitely be going back when they're in Saint John!
