Lime e-bikes have OFFICIALLY landed in Victoria — and VicCityMedia was on the scene for the grand opening party at ! 🍦

The first 200 people to show the Lime app scored a free popsicle, plus Lime handed out free helmets, showed off the new e-bikes, and shared tips on riding and parking safely  — ice cream, sunshine, and a fleet of fresh green bikes. Only in Victoria. 🌊

🔓 $1.15 to unlock + 34¢/min, with bundles like $3.99 for 30 mins 
📍 110 docking stations across James Bay, Downtown, Hillside-Quadra, Burnside, Vic West & North Park

🚁 8:45 AM. Inner Harbour. Heat 2 rolls out. 🚴‍♂️

There’s nothing quite like watching hundreds of riders surge away from the start line of Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria — and from 200 feet up, it’s pure magic. We had the drone in the air Saturday morning and caught the full Heat 2 departure sweeping past the Legislature and out along our stunning West Coast waterfront.

A massive shout out to Tour de Victoria, Ryder Hesjedal, and the entire crew of organizers and volunteers who put on one of the best cycling events in Canada, right here in our backyard. The energy, the logistics, the community — flawless. Victoria showed up, and you made it happen. 👏

Nothing says summer in Victoria like this. 🚴

We were up in the air this morning on another VicCityMedia project and caught the 8:45 am departure of Heat #2 at Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria — hundreds of riders rolling out along the Inner Harbour with the Empress and the Legislature as the backdrop. From above you really see it: the causeway packed wall to wall, the harbour glassy, the whole downtown lit up for it.

Huge respect to the riders, the volunteers in orange, the DJ keeping the start line loud, and everyone who put this on. Events like this are what make our city feel like home.

This is exactly what we love doing at VicCityMedia — showing off Victoria and the Island from angles most people never get to see. Drone video from this morning is coming soon, so give us a follow so you don’t miss it, and tag anyone you spotted in the crowd. 👇

Need a Lift!

Big thanks to and Darryl for the safe transport all the way from the Okanagan — this beauty arrived right on schedule and VicCityCrane took it the rest of the way, lifting it up and over and setting it down exactly where it needed to be.

Took my daughter and her friends out on the boat tonight — three 15-year-olds who live on their phones, fully unplugged and laughing their heads off for a couple hours of tubing. They won’t be this age much longer. Grateful I caught it.

Shot on the Insta360 for that wide, in-the-action angle, with my DJI Mini 4 Pro riding shotgun in the back seat like always — some people never leave home without their wallet, I never leave home without my drone.

This is the fun stuff. But it’s also exactly what we do at Vic City Media, day in and day out — capturing the moments that matter, however you need them shot.
