A wedding at Arbutus Cove Retreat calls for an arbutus double exposure.

This gorgeous day is proof that the perfect wedding day doesn’t always need 12-18 months of planning. Sometimes it only needs 2 months, a little luck (like finding your perfect dress at the thrift store!), and a lot of loved ones willing to help bring your dream to life.

It was so evident throughout the planning process how incredibly special, kind hearted, and loving Jenelle and Pierre both are. Every call was so full of laughter and excitement, and it was genuinely such a privilege to play a small part in this beautiful day.

I’ve been steadily chipping away at my editing queue in between weddings, sending off so many galleries including this gorgeous engagement session. I’m so happy for these two beautiful humans and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them!

As for me, I’m on day 11 of a horrendous cold/flu, melting into my couch as I binge watch Dance Moms 👍

Victoria and Davison travelled all the way from Texas to celebrate their love, amidst the historic beauty of Cabra Castle, nestled in the Irish countryside.

Having a destination wedding often means downsizing your guest list, but not for these two! More than 80 of their nearest and dearest made the journey and it is truly a testament to the kind of people they are: Funny, kind, generous, and undoubtedly meant for each other. Their ceremony was short, sweet, and full of tears (especially the groom’s), followed later by heartfelt private vows (and more tears, including mine and Lucas). The reception space and first dances were breathtaking and from there, this crew partied all the way til dawn!

Despite the grandeur of the venue, decor, guest count etc, this day still managed to feel intimate, warm, and deeply personal. We are so grateful to have been a part of it.

I’m not sure if she ever actually said “yes”, but in true Irish fashion she did say “what?” and “you’re joking” repeatedly.

Dylan took such care in planning his proposal to Christina and it was such a joy getting to know them and witness this moment in their love story! Congratulations you two!! 💕

The number of times I have stabbed myself in the finger whilst attempting to pin one of those bad boys on is HIGH. Shoutout to Melissa Tripp who gave me a tutorial at the last wedding - perhaps 2027 will see fewer fingers impaled

If I ever retire from photography I’m going to put my former career to work and start social skills groups for boomer parents 🤣

On Monday, I leave for France to spend a week adventuring with these two kind, generous, talented humans, and it has me reflecting back to their wedding day.

One of the things I love the most about being a destination wedding photographer is the opportunity to experience wedding days that incorporate different traditions and follow a different rhythm than Canadian weddings. Marie and Maxime’s wedding in France held so much emotion, as all of the speeches were delivered during the ceremony 💕 It was incredible and if you’re planning a wedding, I highly encourage you to consider doing this!
