One of the things I’ll never take for granted with my job, is the way so many women have trusted me with the softest, hardest and most challenging parts of their lives.
I’ve had clients tell me they’re pregnant before they’ve told their loved ones. I’ve had women quietly share their losses, I’ve photographed growing babies after years of waiting and I’ve hugged women through the grief of the babies they never got to bring home.
There have been so many moments where this job has become so much more than taking a photo. Somewhere along the way, you all have made me a safe space and I don’t think you’ll ever fully understand how much that trust has meant to me. Especially in the seasons where we were both carrying hard things at the same time.
Motherhood can be beautiful and painful and complicated all at once. This mother’s day I was thinking about every woman experiencing this day differently. The moms, the grieving moms, the women longing to become moms, those who are healing, waiting and hoping.
And to all of you who have shared a piece of your story with me, thank you. Truly 💌
