A familiar face from my home studio is back on screen this September. Congratulations to Sarnia’s own Samara Kabat, who plays Angel in The Next Step: Cheer. Season 1, Part 2 arrives September 21 on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

When Samara came in for actor headshots, we created a clean, commercial set that could show agents and casting directors her range.

Food service aides, clerks, nurses, surgeons, hospitalists, an OB-GYN, a geriatrician. The whole machinery of a hospital, person by person. The We Are Bluewater Health campaign honours staff from every department, voted outstanding by the colleagues who work beside them. My job was to find each person in their space, mid-shift or between patients, and photograph them there.

Grateful to everyone who gave me a few minutes between the chaos.

Happy Doctors' Day!

Today I want to recognize Dr. Michel Haddad, Chief of Staff, VP of Medical Affairs, and ICU physician at Bluewater Health. I photographed Dr. Haddad for the We Are Bluewater Health campaign in the ICU, where he still cares for patients every day.

Thank you to Dr. Haddad and every physician working today. I'm grateful to have spent time in these spaces, with these people. I look forward to sharing more of the We Are Bluewater Health campaign next week and honouring everyone who makes this hospital what it is.

I love MedAesthetics! I've been coming back every year for years: portraits, group shots, product shots, rooms and client appreciation portraits. The brief is always to complement their aesthetic, Old Hollywood glamour, black & white with pink accents, and as you walk toward the front reception the walls are lined with my framed editorial portraits of the staff, every year trying to push them closer to Vogue than your standard team headshot. That's what hiring the right photographer gets you: a consultation to figure out what the brand actually needs, the creative direction to get there, and photographs or video that fit rather than just fill a wall or website.
