Chipmunk 🐿️
The chipper chip chipped his chipping cheep at me.

Now anyone that knows me knows that I won’t have that, so I stood my ground.
I ain’t going to have no chipping chip chipper his chipping cheep in my direction.

Note: Sometimes it’s important to get on their level, so, out of respect, I got down on all fours and I chipped back!

I chipped and I chapped my own little chipper cheep back at this cheap chip. I was cheeping chips he had never heard before.
Ones that he wouldn’t even dare let leave his little chipper chipmunk lips.

To my surprise, he was easily offended and left immediately, leaving me on the ground, alone, but a winner.🏆

All three kits tried to climb up the tree to reach Mom.
It wasn’t until they worked together that they were able to make some ground!

✅Take home lesson: Creating a ladder made of baby raccoons has very limited use cases. I recommend trying a real ladder if you ever find yourself in this situation..

An Evening with a Great Horned Owl 🦉🌙

Sometimes the best wildlife encounters don’t produce clean images. The sun was basically set, and with that arrived some of the night’s best hunters.

3 things you might not know about Great Horned Owls:

1. They don’t actually have horns, just feathered tufts.

2. Their eyes are fixed in their skull and can’t move like ours, so they rotate their heads up to 270 degrees instead. The head bobbing you’ll see in this video is how they gauge depth perception.

3. They’re one of the only predators that regularly hunts skunks. Their sense of smell is almost nonexistent, so the spray doesn’t bother them.

Slow down and take in some nature.
It’s worth it.

Here I am, once again, saving you from the terrible thing they call “Crows Feet” 🦶
You’ll notice that this image carefully excludes them and shields them from your sensitive eyes.

Crows are actually highly intelligent birds, capable of recognising human faces and holding grudges for years… just like me.
If you anger one, their entire flock will also despise you and may even attack you. Just FYI, their flock is called a “murder”.

In the end, I simply chose not to make eye contact.
For fear of reprisals.
