LA PROTECTION EN IGP

C’est la phase de l’IGP qui impressionne le plus… mais derrière la puissance, la vitesse et l’intensité se cache un travail très précis.

La protection, c’est le courage, la stabilité mentale et la détermination du chien, mais surtout son contrôle.

💥On cherche un chien capable de s’engager à 100 %… et de se contrôler à 100 %.

Le chien doit affronter la pression, maintenir une prise pleine et ferme, rester concentré malgré l’intensité du moment… puis être capable de revenir instantanément sous le contrôle de son conducteur.

Et au National CWDF, quelques minutes sur le terrain peuvent raconter des années de travail, d’entraînement et de confiance entre un chien et son conducteur.

Ces photos ne racontent pas seulement une morsure, elles racontent le courage d’un chien et la force d’une équipe.🔥

L'obéissance en IGP, c'est bien plus que de simples commandes.

C'est un chien qui travaille avec enthousiasme, puissance et précision. Chaque position, chaque mouvement témoigne d'heures de pratique, de confiance mutuelle et d'une connexion entre le conducteur et son partenaire canin.

L'objectif est d'avoir un chien heureux, motivé et pleinement engagé, qui choisit de travailler avec son humain.

Derrière chaque exercice se cachent la patience, la constance et une relation bâtie sur le respect.

L'IGP ne met pas seulement les aptitudes du chien à l'épreuve… il révèle surtout la qualité du travail d'équipe.

L’IGP — un sport canin encore trop méconnu… mais incroyablement complet.

Derrière ces images de chiens puissants et concentrés se cache une discipline exigeante, technique et surtout profondément basée sur le travail d’équipe entre le chien et son conducteur. C’est un sport de communication, de contrôle, de confiance et de partenariat.

L’IGP combine trois volets :

• Pistage (recherche olfactive sur longue distance)
• Obéissance précise et engagée
• Protection sportive encadrée et contrôlée

Chaque exercice demande au chien de réfléchir, de se concentrer et de travailler sous pression, tout en restant connecté à son humain. De mon côté, je pratique aussi l’agilité, un sport tout aussi stimulant et dynamique, mais l’IGP occupe une place particulière pour moi par sa profondeur et son intensité. J’ai eu la chance d’assister et de photographier des équipes exceptionnelles lors du Nationals, et je vais enfin partager un aperçu de ces moments forts ici.

Mon objectif avec cette page : montrer le vrai monde derrière les sports canins — loin des clichés, proche du réel. Si tu aimes les chiens… tu vas aimer découvrir ça 🖤

IGP — One of the most misunderstood dog sports… and one of the most incredible.

Behind these images of powerful, focused dogs lies a demanding and highly technical sport built on one essential element: the partnership between dog and handler.

IGP combines three disciplines:

• Tracking — following a scent trail over long distances using only the dog's nose
• Obedience — precise, enthusiastic teamwork
• Protection — controlled, highly structured sport work

IGP isn't just about performance. It's about communication, self-control, trust, and an extraordinary partnership between a dog and its handler.

Every exercise challenges the dog to think, stay focused, work under pressure, and remain connected to the person at the other end of the leash.

I also compete in agility, another exciting and challenging dog sport that I absolutely love. But there's something uniquely captivating about IGP—its depth, its precision, and the incredible bond it creates between dog and handler.

I recently had the opportunity to attend and photograph the National Championship, where I witnessed some truly exceptional teams in action.

My goal with this page is simple: to show the real world behind working dogs and dog sports—beyond the stereotypes, beyond the misconceptions, and through the lens of what these partnerships truly represent.
