Photography is more than pressing a shutter—or typing a prompt.

This portrait began as a photograph I created in my studio. The city behind me was generated with AI, but every creative decision that gives the image its impact was still made by a photographer.

The outstretched hand isn’t random. I deliberately posed it so the opening between my thumb and finger subtly frames my jawline, guiding your eye toward my face rather than blocking it. The wide-angle perspective exaggerates the hand to create depth, while the hat, tie, and lines of the surrounding architecture all work together to lead your eye back to my expression.

Even after the background was created, the work wasn’t finished. Every tonal adjustment, every dodge and burn, every highlight, every shadow, every subtle atmospheric effect and every decision about where your eye should travel through the image was crafted by hand. None of those choices were accidental.

AI is an extraordinary tool, but it doesn’t replace artistic vision, an understanding of light, composition, posing, storytelling, or the years spent learning how people experience a photograph. Used responsibly, AI can expand a photographer’s creative possibilities. Used carelessly, it simply generates images.

Technology has always changed photography. Great photographers don’t fear new tools—they learn to master them. The camera didn’t replace the artist, and neither will AI.

The tool doesn’t create the vision. The photographer does.

Tis' the Season. Nature's Glenn is now accepting appointments for couple, family, and pet holiday portraits for the 2025 year. Don't miss your chance.

All sessions are done at a "real" location of choice or within the comfort of your home using "green screen." Sessions cost $55 for a 1-hour photo shoot. Photographic prints are produced from start to finish in-house on high-end artistic or photographic papers at extremely reasonable prices. For example, a package of 3 - 5x7's start at only $10.95 while 1 - 16x20 starts at $24.95.
