Thursday I rang the bell for my final chemotherapy treatment.
For many people, ringing that bell symbolizes finishing treatment and celebrating a victory over cancer. While it certainly brings a sense of accomplishment and relief, I’ve come to realize it means so much more.
When that bell rings, every patient in the treatment area hears it. For those still in the middle of their journey, it serves as a reminder that there is hope. It tells them that treatments do come to an end, that difficult days can be overcome, and that one day they, too, may have the chance to ring that bell.
Thursday, my bell wasn’t just for me. It was for everyone still fighting, everyone waiting for better days, and everyone holding on to hope.
To all those still on this journey: keep going. Your day will come too. ❤️🔔 Thank you to all the incredible staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre!
