Tulip season is here in Vancouver 💐🌹✨
Everything just feels a little lighter this time of the year.
If you have been thinking about going, take this as your sign. Go wander, take many photos, and just enjoy it while it’s here. ❤️

Been wanting to try out generative AI video for a while… so I finally did.

This is something I put together over a few hobby hours using free credits in march 2026. It’s a mix of real footage and AI-generated clips. Not gonna lie, parts of it still feel like “AI slop”… but hey, it’s march 2026 only. ✨

The interesting part? No matter how much we criticize AI video, it’s clearly in its toddler phase. It’s already pretty useful for things like pre-visualization, mood pieces, or rough storyboarding. I didn’t expect it to take this much time and patience though, getting something even halfway decent is still a grind.

For someone like me who gets random ideas with no way (neither friends circle or budget) to actually shoot them, or ideas that are just plain weird, this kind of tool feels like a small unlock.

There’s definitely a right and wrong way to use it, and I’m still figuring that out.
the first part of the video is inspired from:
Curious what you think:
Should I keep making more of these?
What worked, what didn’t?

Testing the new Canon RF 45mm F1.2 STM paired with my Canon EOS R8 during late dusk, I’m honestly impressed.

A 45mm f/1.2 autofocus prime at this size and price is pretty wild. It’s compact enough to carry anywhere, but still delivers that super shallow depth of field and creamy bokeh that portrait shooters love.

What I like about this lens:
• f/1.2 aperture → amazing low-light capability and subject separation
• 45mm focal length → natural perspective for portraits & everyday shots
• Lightweight (~346g) → perfect for travel and handheld shooting
• Quiet STM autofocus → works well for both photos and video
• Beautiful 9-blade bokeh rendering for dreamy backgrounds

A few downsides:
• No optical stabilization (relying on camera stabilization)
• Some chromatic aberration/fringing wide open at f/1.2
• No weather sealing and the lens hood is sold separately

Still, for the price, getting an autofocus f/1.2 prime in such a compact form is pretty amazing.

What do you think — would you use a 45mm f/1.2 for portraits?
