🖌️ Paint and Go Studios — Bringing Miniatures to Life

Matthew Jensen's studio offers commission painting, 3D printing and "all things miniature" for tabletop gamers and collectors.

Paint and Go has grown to more than 10,000 Instagram followers and partnered with gaming companies to help grow each other's businesses. Now that they are in their third year of business, the studio is on the verge of hiring staff.

Matthew's advice is refreshingly practical: build on your greatest strength, not just what you love.

"Make a list of the things you are good at, and pursue that. The better you can serve your customers with your talent, the better you'll do in business."

📚️ Donovan Street Press — Genre-Bending Books

Joe Mahoney's press acquires and publishes high-concept, genre-bending science fiction, fantasy, literary fiction, memoirs and more. It also produces Re-creative, a podcast about creativity and "art that inspires," and runs workshops on writing, storytelling, and audiobook and podcast production.

The press just published its tenth book.

"We're getting there!" Joe says. It all grew from a love of writing, books and creativity and he admits he loves "the challenge of trying to make it work."

"I have a love of both technology and the arts, and photography is a great outlet for both," he says. "And now I don't need to appease head office."

His proudest achievement is simply making it through the pandemic and still going strong which was a hard stretch for small businesses, and for photographers in particular.
