The numbers are devastating: over 2,000 people executed in Iran in 2025 — the highest in 45 years. In the first two months of 2026 alone, 660 more have been documented, with the real number believed to be far higher.
Today, 78 people remain on death row — including 41 protesters from the January 2026 uprising, at least 5 of them children. Some were sentenced and hanged within weeks of arrest, on confessions extracted under torture.
