The Mount Joy Stone Schoolhouse is a quiet reminder of Saskatchewan’s rural past. Once filled with the sound of students and daily lessons, this stone-built school now stands abandoned on the prairie, slowly weathering with time.

Like many one-room schools across the province, it tells the story of early education in rural Saskatchewan, when communities built their own schools from local stone and determination.

Today, it remains one of those hauntingly beautiful stops that capture the spirit of abandoned Saskatchewan. If you want to see more photos or watch a video walkthrough, visit our website. Link in comments!

On the backroads, among the forests and farmland near Weekes, Saskatchewan, stands St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Built in 1946, this small wooden church has served generations of local families and remains a beautiful reminder of the province's rich Ukrainian heritage. Though the congregation is much smaller today, the church continues to stand as a symbol of faith, community, and prairie history.

Have you visited this hidden Saskatchewan church?

The abandoned, now demolished, Ingebrigt Plant stood as a reminder of Saskatchewan's resource industry and the communities that depended on it. While production had long ceased, the massive structures and quiet landscape told the story of a once-bustling operation hidden on the prairie.

Site demolished around 2013.

The Ingebrigt deposit contained millions of tonnes of sodium sulphate, a mineral used in products ranging from detergents to paper manufacturing. Operating from the 1960s until its closure in 2000, the plant employed workers from across southwest Saskatchewan and shipped its product by rail across North America.

Site demolished around 2013.

Hidden in the hills near Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, stood the former Ingebrigt Mine and Plant, once one of the province's largest sodium sulphate operations. Built to process minerals from nearby Ingebrigt Lake, the facility played an important role in Saskatchewan's industrial and mining history for decades.

Site demolished around 2013.
