Albert Gervais, the man, the myth, the legend, passed away on the family farm on August 1, 2026, at the age of 90.
His obituary was very well said.
āAlbert never met a stranger.ā This couldnāt be more true, my boyfriend and I had gone for lunch at Wendyās one of our favourite places to have lunch. We were eating and he went to fill his drink up at the end of our meal, I thought maybe heād gone p*e heād been gone so long and to my surprised I turned around and he was talking to someone. It was Albert. Albert had picked a stranger to speak to as he was throwing out garbage about his arm tattoo, we chatted about farming and small things. We talked about me knowing the colonyās in the area and the curling ring of kronau, how it was such a small world that I knew the Ellās and Dielschneiderās. It wasnāt till after that I had realized I actually knew Albert, when he said my daughter is an Ell that it clicked that I was pretty sure I knew him. As we drive home past the lajord turn it clicked, I knew him, I knew that smile that we got as we said goodbye!
I had met him before, 2 years ago his daughter had won a giveaway for a photo session. He loved to tell a good story he woulda talked my ear off if he could! We chatted, I photographed and we got him to give us the best smile Iād ever seen! A smile that is hard to forget! He wanted to hear about my son and see pictures, he was so happy for me and my young boy and didnāt even know me, he couldnāt believe I picked a name like Walter. As I called it his āold man nameā and he said thats a good strong name!
It saddens me that we had to go that day for an appointment and that we didnāt get more time to chat, the days are so short and you never know what will happen. Hug your loved ones, listen to the storyās, take the extra 5 minutes to do things you enjoy! Because you never know what tomorrow can bring!
