Hiya folks!

Just wanted to touch base about something here. Recently, during the Christmas Micros, we’ve had people attending and having us take the family photo, and then break outs - to which they are then taking photos of while I am shooting.

Some then going to pick photos, and bypassing all the other images - because they already have them, on their phone. Or, taking photos of the screen with the images but choosing not to buy the photo. Most are trying to conceal they are doing this - so you know it’s not okay.

I understand that it doesn’t seem like a big deal to some - but the reality is that you are taking money away from what allows me to do this yearly. Those extras help pay for the staff you see helping choose the images, the staff at Gracefully Birthed, the backdrops and props used each year, the marketing that we do to run it and yes, it helps me be able to do it for several weeks and not just a few because I can also have some of my time accounted for.

Going forward, you will be asked to keep your phone away.

You may remember us having the two lovely humans from the North Pole a few years ago. Professionally, I loved working with these two and would again in a heart beat and can’t wait to see Mrs.Clause come out on the other side of this.

But on a personal note, they are two friends who became family since I first moved to Alberta and my heart is a little less full at the moment. They took me and my family in with loving arms when we didn’t have family of our own here and I’ll never be able to thank them enough.

When my washing machine flooded? They were there. When I need to talk? They are there.
When I need a Mom? Terri Grills is always there.

This is a very difficult announcement to make. It’s not something we would normally share here, but it directly affects our fundraising goals.

This week, Mrs. Claus was diagnosed with the big C. As you can imagine, we’re all in shock.

But Mrs. Claus immediately started worrying about how this would affect her fundraising goal for Sendero Centre because its such a personal cause for her.

So, she’s asking if you can all help her reach the $2,000 fundraising goal. If everyone who can chips in just $5 - $10, we can make it happen.

Here’s how you can help:

💜 Donate directly to Sendero - Please let them know your donation is connected to us, and then let us know so we can track our progress toward the goal.

💜 Donate through us - We can accept cash or e-transfer ([email protected]) and will forward the full amount to Sendero at the end of the season. We don't collect tax receipts for ourselves nor give them to donors.

We’re still hoping to do our yard visits as planned, and we appreciate everyone who continues to support us and this cause.

Bookings Update:

Effective immediately, unless your event has already been confirmed, we will not be accepting any new bookings.

For those with confirmed events, Mrs. Claus will not be attending. And, depending on how things progress, Santa may also need to cancel some appearances, but only if absolutely necessary.

We know this may be disappointing, and we really appreciate your understanding as we navigate this unexpected news.

Right now, we’re taking things one day at a time. Thank you for giving us the space to do that while helping Mrs. Claus continue working toward a cause that means so much to her. 💜💜💜

It's Christmas (almost) in Red Deer!

We are officially taking our bookings for our Annual Christmas Portraits by donation.

This is our 7th year, and we can't wait to make this year - the best year yet.

Here is the run down 👇

As always we're welcoming families to book a 10 minute time slot, for a session fee of a minimum $35.00, which includes 1 High Resolution Image. Once the event is over, all session fees of a minimum $35.00 minus transaction fees will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer by Paige Koster Photography.

You then will proceed to pick your images with one of our volunteers. Please be prepared to narrow your images down as you will only have 10 minutes to pick as well. You will be able to purchase additional images as well. Credit, Debit, Cash & EMT will be accepted. Extras are $35 Each, 5/$140, or 10/$250.

Please book your session with a 1-2 week turn around in mind.
Last year we were able to raise over $8,000, and this year our aim is to beat that amount. We love to deliver that huge cheque for this amazing local non-profit on behalf of our clients and their loved ones. These funds allow the Ronald McDonald House here in Red Deer to provide families with the care, support and supplies they need while their children are in hospital and is a home away from home for families of all ages.

Thanks to your support of these sessions and kind donations, we have raised over $40,000 to date!
