6am at Moraine Lake, not a ripple. Before noon, we were on hands and knees up this scree slope with Eiffel Peak and Temple Mountain behind us.

It was a scorcher out today!

Berta Lake was a plan B situation. Initially Alderson then we heard there was a substantial amount of deadfall. So Bertie was it for us. When they say you’re exposed in terms of sunlight, they weren’t kidding! It was a day of hydration, any shade we could get and a lot of sunblock!

Let’s just say the lake felt fantastic!
