I'm excited to share I am Reclaiming what was almost erased. Our names were so often unrecorded or rewritten. In my family line before the surnames that replaced it...there was Zolihatkwa.

To hold a name that survived that silence is a rare gift, and I am choosing to bring it back into spoken breath. While the formal legal process of taking back my Indigenous name is a long road, my spirit isn't waiting on paperwork to validate who I am.

I am stepping fully into Zolihatkwa.
To speak it, write it, and carry it forward in its true form. The way it was meant to sound, unwarped.

I am reclaiming this name to let it be heard, spoken, and breathed into the world once again. It honors my ancestors who carried it before me, my culture that refused to be erased, and the path I am walking...now as Zolihatkwa. 🌿✨

✨🌕 Blue Moon Reflections 🌕✨

This year's Blue Moon found me exactly where I was meant to b standing beside the river, surrounded by the water, the trees, and the night sky.

I didnt plan to go to the River that day in advance. Yet somehow, the evening unfolded into a sacred ritual all on its own.

As the moonlight danced across the water, I found myself reflecting on the path behind me and the journey still ahead. The river carried away what no longer served me, while the moon illuminated what remains: growth, healing, creativity, family, and connection.

As a photographer, I am constantly capturing the beauty of fleeting moments. As an artist, I seek meaning in the patterns of nature.

As a mother, I am reminded that some of life's most powerful experiences happen when we simply show up and allow ourselves to be present in the moment and to truly live ✨️

The Blue Moon is often seen as a symbol of rare opportunities, transformation, and trusting the timing of the universe. Standing there beneath its glow, I felt gratitude for every lesson, every challenge, and every blessing that has shaped this chapter of my life.

May this moon bring clarity where there is uncertainty, courage where there is fear, and inspiration where there is dreaming.

🌿🌙 From the river's edge to your heart, may you find beauty in the unexpected.

Yesterday was Red Dress Day.
A day to honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people. Their absence is not history. It is ongoing. It is felt.

My work through art, healing, and everything I create, is rooted in that same energy: truth, remembrance, and transformation.

I don’t create just to be seen.
I create to feel, to process, to honour, and to awaken.

To those who are grieving, searching, reclaiming, or redefining themselves
I see you. I walk with you.

Day late posting, I took a really great social media break. ❤️ I celebrated in my own peace.Yesterday was Red Dress Day ...

"My creativity isn't a polished gallery; it’s a wild, unmapped territory where the brush doesn't follow the line and the lens seeks the soul of the storm. I don’t create to be understood; I create to set the frequency of my own internal wilderness free."✨️

Updated version by me to include all Signs 🥰
✨✨✨**April 25th**✨✨✨
**Seven years. Finally over.**
♈️♉️♊️♋️♌️♍️♎️♏️♐️♑️♒️♓️
*The shaking stops. The sky clears.*
✨✨✨
Seven years is not just time... it's a quiet storm that reshapes who you are without asking for permission.

For the **Fixed Signs** (♉️♌️♏️♒️), these years felt like standing on shifting ground—just when life began to feel stable, the lightning struck. You were the epicenter of the change.

For the **Earth Signs** (♉️♍️♑️), it was a deep restructuring. **Capricorn**, (me) specifically learned that my mountain doesn’t have to stay the same shape for it to be strong. You let go of the "old way" to make room for a foundation that actually breathes.

For the **Fire Signs** (♈️♌️♐️), your spirit was tempered. The heat was high, but it didn't burn you away; it forged you into something unbreakable.

For the **Water Signs** (♋️♏️♓️), the tides were unpredictable, pulling you into depths you didn't think you could survive. You found your pearls in the dark.

For the **Air Signs** (♊️♎️♒️), the winds blew away the noise, leaving you with a clarity that only comes after the gale force winds die down.

Growth rarely feels gentle when it’s happening. It feels like confusion. Like loss. Like being rewritten in a language you don’t yet understand.
