I gotta say, I LOVEEEE when you ladies gift yourselves an empowerment session for your birthday. And honestly, what a gift it is.

A chance to celebrate yourself. Exactly as you are, in this moment of your life. To look back on these photos years from now and remember just how damn beautiful you are.

We headed down to the Beach at the Lighthouse on Quadra, and with the moody skies, the ocean, the red Jeep… EVERYTHING really just came together.

And this woman?! DANNNNG GIRL. 🥵🔥

Here's to 40, to feeling yourself, and to giving yourself permission to be the main character!!!

Look at this place!!! The sauna and cold plunge set up is absolutely STUNNNNNNING as well as the forest view tub for relaxation!

Setri Nordic Spa is tucked away in a quiet forest in Cobble Hill and is worth the trip to enjoy it!

Okay, let’s clear the air.

I’m not going to pretend I know everything — because I don’t. I’m still learning, still training, and I probably always will be.

But I DO know I want to build something now that 55 or 60-year-old me will be really f**king grateful I started.

I love photography. ❤️ I’m not going anywhere. But I also don’t want my future to depend on me physically shooting weddings and sessions forever.

So I’m building something alongside it. Something flexible, something I can grow into, and something that can come with me into the next stages of my life.

I’m not replacing what I love. I’m building for what comes next. ❤️

So grateful to be learning with Nicole Varcoe . Thank you endlessly for your knowledge.

🪐 As an empowerment photographer...

I think it’s important to get in front of the camera every once in a while… even if that means taking self portraits.

It reminds me what it feels like to be on the other side of the lens. To feel a little awkward, to wonder what the hell to do with my hands. 😂

It also lets me see myself from a different perspective — which is something I’m always encouraging other women to do.

And honestly, it makes me better at what I do. Better at guiding, posing, and understanding what my clients need to actually feel comfortable in front of me.

Sometimes the photographer needs to be photographed too. 🤍
