The first days with a new baby are full of little things you might not even realize you’ll miss: the way they curl into your arms, those sleepy expressions, the softness of their cheeks.

Newborn portraits give you something tangible to return to when this season has passed. Booking during pregnancy helps you make room for the experience before the busy, beautiful days after birth begin. We can plan ahead, then follow baby’s timing and cues when they arrive.

Safety is never an afterthought. I keep baby supported, allow time for feeding and soothing, and only use poses that feel comfortable for them. The goal is a calm experience and meaningful photographs, not a rushed checklist.

A newborn session is not about expecting a perfect pose. It’s about slowing down, letting baby settle, and capturing the small details your family will want to remember. The first two weeks are often chosen for sleepy, curled-up portraits, so booking while pregnant gives us time to plan before baby arrives.

If baby needs a feed, a cuddle, or a pause, we take one. A safe and gentle session always follows baby’s lead.

Newborn photos preserve the little details that change so quickly. For classic sleepy, curled-up poses like this, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant and planning the session for baby’s first two weeks, when many babies are sleepier and more settled. Every baby is different, and we always follow their cues.

The first two weeks can feel like one long, beautiful blur. A newborn session gives you a gentle pause to notice those tiny features and save a few photographs of just how little your baby was. 🤍

Booking your newborn session while you’re pregnant gives us time to plan ahead, so after baby arrives you can focus on settling in together. We aim for the first two weeks because babies are often sleepier and more naturally curled up then, but every baby is different and we follow their pace.

Gentle posing takes patience and safety experience. Baby stays supported, we watch for cues, and we take breaks whenever needed. There’s no pose more important than your baby feeling comfortable.
