Two of my all time favourite Grizzly bear images I’ve ever created. Each time I look at these I’m transported right back to this very moment in time. Photography has helped me through plenty of hard times and this was one of those days. 2018, 6 months after losing my Mom unexpectedly, my friend Murray O'Neill took me under his wing and said follow me, I know a spot that this Sow and her cubs come through daily to get to the river. We waited and like clockwork these two came and looked down from the banks of the river pausing to make sure it’s safe before taking to the river to feast on Salmon. Every thing lined up perfectly, the light, the background, I can even recall my inner voice begging the grasses in front of the cubs face to get out of the way so I can manage to get focus lol. I’m not sure how long the moments lasted, it felt like time stopped, but I can remember as they moved on to the river we looked at each other and just smiled, laughed, gave each other high fives and exhaled sighs of joy and disbelief. I still get glossy eyed just recounting this experience and I could not help but feel that for a few moments my Mom came to say hello via these bears. I guess my point is that I believe there is some other worldly connection with nature that we all have. I have a number of friends that have recently lost a parent, for me it was and still is one of the biggest hurdles I’ve ever faced in life. I just want those friends to know that if you pay close attention there will be moments when they come to encourage you and give a little boost to your day. Thanks for reading and feel free to weigh in if you have ever had a similar experience.

We expected way more wildlife on our trip through Northern BC and the Cassiar Hwy! But that’s just how the cookie crumbles in wildlife photography, the chances we got though were taken advantage of. This has to be one of my favourite shots of a black bear that I’ve taken to date. Have a great weekend all

This is Jenna foreman I’ve gotten to know Jennna through my daughter Clara Campbell both attend the Canadian sport School here in Prince George which I think has been an amazing place to better themselves in not just sports, but all aspects.

I am very excited for her as she has earned the chance to compete at the World Championships in Val Di Sole, Italy this August. This is a major accomplishment and I hope if you see her on our streets or out on the trails you give her a big “hell yeah “ Go Jenna!!Gravity MTB Racing | Downhill and Enduro Race Team Engage Sport North Ruckus Skis Boards and Bikes

I almost gave up…… I went out looking to catch some of the Perseid Metoer shower but the fog followed me around like I was in Stephen King the Mist! Let me tell you as a big fan of his books, those thoughts do not help you wander around in the dark by yourself 😂😂 That said, I was happy to come home with a few keepers still. Dark nights with the green lights and a little Milky Way too!

One of my favourite things about wildlife photography or in this case my bird nerding is getting see things you normally can’t with the naked eye because it just happens so fast. I caught this little guy in Tongass National Forest as he plucked a meal off a railing from the wildlife viewing platform. I love the details in the the feathers especially those vibrant yellows.

If you ever get the opportunity to do this…. Just do it!! What an adventure with We started our day by touring the peaks and valleys high up in the Northern Rockies until we found a place we liked to be dropped off. Once on the ground we spent our day exploring, glassing for wildlife and hiding from the intermittent snow and rain storms 😂 I loved every second of it. From traversing the tippy rocks of old avalanches, to hopping glacial creeks or just sitting back on the peaks taking in the unending views this was an amazing day. I loved the absolute solitude, the never ending howl of the wind, and I could not ignore how much it felt like I had been transported right back to Iceland. It didn’t even bother me to know that the wrong weather system might have us stuck on the mountain overnight. I was in my happy place!
