Had a ton of work to move my photography to a new server as my old one is showing signs of not turning on someday in the near future. Still lots to do. Haven't worked my way through all the images from our Japan trip in Sept for a variety of reasons. This image sticks out in my mind and has since the day I took it. Not my best but I thought the woman taking a photo of the temple with her smartphone made an interesting composition.

Nikon D810 DSLR, 800 mm lens, f9, ISO 800, 1/800 second
The rule of thumb for big lenses is that you need the shutter speed to meet or exceed the focal length of the lens (800 mm) to avoid blurry shots. Then it becomes a balance between high ISO and noise in the image. I try to avoid more than ISO 800 with the D810 body.
