Some days, the wind has a story of its own to tell.

Instead of fighting the elements, we decided to lean into them, trust in the process, and bask in the beauty of it. The wind swept through her hair, caught the fabric of her clothing, and brought so much movement and life to every frame.

There was something fitting about the weather that day. A little wild, a little unpredictable, and somewhat out of our comfort zones, much like the beautiful new chapter these two are stepping into.

They are preparing for the arrival of their first little one while settling into a new house, making it their own, and creating a home that will soon be filled with tiny footsteps, little laughs, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with becoming parents.

To the two of you:
I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. I hope your new home is filled with so much love, your days with your little one are full of wonder, and this next chapter brings you more joy than you could ever imagine. You are going to make the most beautiful little family, and I can't wait to see all the love that unfolds.

A newborn session with a family who also has a toddler is a whole different adventure compared to a quiet newborn shoot or a calm couples portrait. When a toddler is part of the mix, they become the unofficial director of the day — and that’s perfectly okay.

We move with their moods, follow their curiosity, and let their energy guide us. Some moments will be wild and full of giggles, others soft and tender. I encourage parents to lean into the unpredictability, to play, laugh, and simply be present.

I can’t promise that every photo will have everyone looking straight at the camera — but I can promise that your images will be filled with genuine connection, authentic moments, and the joy you felt together. These are the memories you’ll treasure, because they tell the real story of your family right now.

The Simpson's are opening their hearts and making room for someone they haven't even met yet, but already love more deeply than they could have ever imagined.

And I am beyond grateful to have been able to capture this beautiful beginning for them -- the love, excitement, and anticipation of becoming a family of three.

Some families step in front of my camera once.
And some become part of the story. 🤍

I first photographed this beautiful family ten years ago, when Tracy was pregnant and waiting to meet the little person who would change everything.

And somehow, here we are all these years later… watching their family grow and change, witnessing the little moments and big milestones, and getting to preserve pieces of their story along the way.

I get to see their personalities shine. The way they love each other. The little connections and moments that might otherwise pass by unnoticed.

These photographs will always mean a little more to me.
Because they’re not just portraits.
They are Ten years of memories.
They are Ten years of growth.
They are Ten years of love, laughter, and friendship.

Captured one season at a time.

The last grad session of the season…

A dress covered in delicate pastel flowers.
A forest glowing with evening light.
A lake stretching endlessly beneath a sky full of moody clouds.
And that little bit of magic that happens when everything comes together perfectly.

We wandered through the trees, chased the light, found our way to the water, and even brought a paddleboard along for a little adventure.

Looking at these images, I can’t help but think about how much a graduation session really represents:

Standing somewhere between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming...

The familiar paths behind you.
An open horizon in front of you.
And so many beautiful places still waiting to be explored.

When you think about your wedding photos, you probably picture the dress, the first look, the ceremony, and the beautiful portraits.

But someday, I think you’ll look back and treasure the moments in between even more.

The way your mom looked at you while helping with your dress.
The quiet moment you took a deep breath before everything began.
Your mom & daughter laughing around you.
The happy tears. The nervous hands. The little touches.
The people who were there, helping you become a bride.

These are the moments you may not even notice on your wedding day because everything moves so quickly.

But years from now, those photographs will bring you back.

Back to the room.
Back to the laughter.
Back to the people you love.
Back to the feeling of “This is really happening.”

Because your wedding day isn't just about how it looked.

It's about how it felt.

And sometimes, the photos you didn't know you needed become the ones you hold onto the tightest. 🤍
