Just when you think you can’t possibly cry anymore at a wedding, you cry again.

Some tearful + touching moments included:

-Cam watching Lindsay walk down the aisle

-Lindsay surprising her mom with a mother + daughter dance

-Cam dancing with his mom + then the rest of his siblings being invited up to join them. Watching the 6 of them embrace each other…not a dry eye in the room, let me tell you.

Yesterday was so beautiful in every way. When we came upon the forest patch with the moss trail, it felt so ethereal. The sun was shining in the perfect spot + my little light-seeking-photographer-heart was wide-eyed. Additional forest shots at the end because I can’t pick - don’t make me pick!

Beautiful day. Beautiful people.

An intimate wedding at Wild Skies Resort with their closest people was the perfect setting for saying their vows.

Instead of a DJ, Alyssa and Jeff had a curated selection of their own vinyl records for guests to play. Their first dance song was “With You - Sum 41”.

Jeff’s vest + shirt were made by the bride’s mom, Ramona. And Alyssa’s dress - so flowy and free - was definitely a showstopper!

A beautiful day, full of beautiful people!

This one deserved its own spot on the grid solo. I love their energy + love this phone booth by Oh Hello Phonebooth where your guests record greetings for you to replay for years to come - how fun!

This next piece is personal + comes from my heart:

Yesterday, I looked around the room and realized just how many familiar faces were there. Five couples whose wedding days I’ve already had the honour of capturing, one couple whose wedding I’ll photograph next summer, and of course, Morgan + Robby.

Seven couples, all in one room, who have trusted me with such an important piece of their lives.

During wedding season, my life moves pretty fast. I’m photographing sessions and weddings, sorting out timelines, replying to emails, and editing. I also work a corporate job during the week, and most importantly, I am a mom to three little (amazing) humans.

There isn’t always a lot of time to stop and really take in what this work has become over the last 13 years, or how much meaning and purpose I find in capturing weddings and families. I feel it but I don’t often sit in it; What a gift it is to be invited into people’s lives in this way.

But yesterday, looking around and seeing all of these people I’ve had the honour of working with over the years, I really, 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 felt it.

And today, I finally had the space to soak it in - tears and all.

I get to leave you with photographs that become part of your family history and legacy, and in return, you’ve given me a career and a life filled with people and stories I’ll carry with me.

So to the seven couples there yesterday, to all of the couples and families over the years who have trusted me, and to all those yet to come: thank you. Truly.

Love you. Mean it.

What a day!

I’m working on sharing more of the stories from wedding days from beginning to end. The sneak peeks I send are a sprinkle from a few different parts of the day, but there are always so many little details and moments tucked into them.

So, here are a few from Morgan + Robby’s:

Slide 3: Morgan’s mom, Lori, had part of her own wedding dress made into this beautiful bridal robe for Morgan to wear while she was getting ready. Lori’s a mom of three girls, so she also had three handbags made, one for each of them, using the train of her dress. 🥹

Slide 4: Maverick (a very good boy) made it onto the inside of Robby’s suit jacket. The bowtie near the top of the photo was handmade by one of Morgan’s sisters for Maverick’s collar.

Slide 9: I love this photo of Morgan + her dad walking down the aisle, but look over to the right and you’ll see her mom wiping away her tears. A reminder that cropping photos sometimes crops the story; look and see what the whole story is 🤍

Slide 15: Some more behind-the-scenes video. Running, but also RUNNING because there were approximately 10,000 mosquitoes out for blood (but only exactly where we went for sunset photos).

What a beautiful Sunday wedding Jennifer + Scott had. From their heartfelt vows, to the moment they shared immediately following their first kiss (peep the photo with Jenny’s head on Scott’s chest), to the speeches that made us all tear up. Brandis + Bryce’s July wedding felt like something out of a midsummer dream.

Ferns and moss woven into every detail, a beautiful group of people gathered to celebrate, lots of laughter, a walk through the pasture with horses, and two people choosing each other in front of everyone they love.

I’ll never get tired of documenting days like this.

P.S) Special shout out to the water bottles, liquid IV, gatorades, granola bars, turkey bites, babybel cheese, and the taco bar that kept Quincy + I fueled yesterday in our Manitoba heat. The real MVPs.

Sometimes you just have to romanticize the city you live in.

A lamppost, a crosswalk, late May. I had fun with Miranda + Jonathon who wanted to lean into the small town cinematic vibe for their engagement session. We gallivanted downtown for sunset and blue hour - and the lamp post? It lit up for us right when we walked up to use it✨ Couldn’t have timed it better if we tried.

These sessions are always some of my favourites; quiet moments with your babies exactly as they are in this season.

This year we’ll be gathering inside the beautiful greenhouse at , a locally loved family-run greenhouse just outside Portage la Prairie. Surrounded by lush greenery and soft natural light, it’s the perfect setting to celebrate motherhood.

Whether you’re expecting, holding a toddler on your hip, or gathering generations together, these sessions are meant to capture the connection between you and the people who made you a mother.
