Back after a 4 month hiatus - that familiar weight of my camera in my hands, Dad's camera bag slung over my shoulder - I’d almost forgotten how good it feels.

Last week, I stepped onto the ice with this fun group of Grade 8 girls - ringette players in their grad dresses, laughing through chattering teeth, steady on their skates, completely in their element. The cold had a bite, but they leaned into each other, into the moment, into that kind of easy, unshakable camaraderie.

And there I was, back at it, taking it all in - grit, grace, and a whole lot of laughter echoing across the ice. And it felt good. Thanks girls.
