From Carlos to Riot: A Story of Resilience, Trust, and Second Chances
“Before he was Riot, he was Carlos, a tiny blue and white American Hairless Terrier searching for a place to belong. During his time in the shelter a diagnosis was unexpected: pancreatitis with severe allergies and possible autoimmune disease.
Through treatment, dietary changes, and the unwavering dedication of people who refused to give up on him, he slowly began to heal. Carlos became Riot as he found his forever home. He shares his home with two canine siblings, Rayne and Radley, a cat named Tommy, and two chinchillas, Minccino and Cinccino.
His days are filled with the simple joys every dog deserves: chasing toys, basking in warm sunbeams, exploring the house, and curling up for cuddles at bedtime.
He still carries some scars from his past. He’s had a few medical scares along the way, reminders of how fragile his future once seemed. But Riot has never stopped proving how resilient he is.
Riot’s story is a reminder that healing isn’t always quick, and second chances don’t always come easily. But with patience, compassion, and love, even the most difficult beginnings can lead to beautiful endings.
The dog once known as Carlos survived.
