I walk around talking photos of strangers and try not to be weird about it.

A bit shy. A bit anxious. But the Glebe BIA only had nice people that wanted to chat.

We’re meeting people on Sparks. One of Ottawa most beautiful street. Let’s see if I can photograph strangers and not be weird.

The title is a bit awkward but it reflects how I feel before going up to some. « Please say yes. Don’t ignore me. I’m not weird. » I hope to be charming and be able to make someone smile.

Highlight was meeting a French lady who hadn’t been on Spark Street since COVID. She used to go everyday and than had stopped. I sat and chatted to her for 10-15 mins, no photo but that’s okay.

Also, big props to Hello Downtown for building some great new interactive sitting areas on Spark. Love it.

I’m out in Byward Market where I get acquainted with some pigeons, try to get close to some cute dogs and meet a nice guy that worked with Kiss!

ByWard Market District | District du Marché By is a great spot and we decide to spent a bit of time to get to meet some strangers. Hopefully I get a couple of laughs and take some cool photos too.

I often smile and say hi to people as I walk on the street, but I don’t stop to chat with them. What if I did? And take their photo?! Yup, I did it. Here’s me in Wellington West BIA

Invoicing, it’s not easy. How do you figure out the value of your time for various photoshoots? How much should you charge for a simple LinkedIn portrait to a complexe rebrand.

We’ve had photographer’s quote half sometimes a third of what we price projects. Your prep time, emailing clients, gear, and studio - that all needs to be factored in.

We’re going to talk about. In-person, because that’s what I know how to do. Definitely not known for my writing skills.

I’ll share past experiences, invoices and why not how we keep organized at the studio. What comes into our workflow for a portrait.

Like last time, we’ll have other photographers to share and m help others have a better understanding of the industry.

Daniel is very talented. Most people know him as the Shopify co-founder. Although only meeting Daniel IRL recently, we were tumblr pals 20 years ago. I followed Daniel because of his fashion photography - he’s a talented photographer amongst also being a designer and music composer.

I was excited to have Daniel in the studio and I wanted to impress. When building the concept for , we wanted to play with obscurity. Keeping the DJ persona mysterious from previous work. The play with shadows worked with that narrative.
