Yesterday was Juneteenth and also the end of my first year in my Architecture program. I should be happy but the old and indistinct sadness visits me like an old friend.
The random burst of violence against black bodies weighs heavy on my mind. The rupturing of broken bones against skin on cold pavements are imagery no one should see over and over again. "The feelin' of an apocalypse happenin'
But nothin' is awkward" (Kendrick Lamar). But all I can hope is that something happens about it.
