Fourteen years into photographing weddings, I still arrive early.
I’m Nicole, the photographer behind Nicole Amanda Photography. I’m based in Ottawa and photograph weddings here and in selected destinations across Canada.
I still notice the person trying not to cry during the ceremony, the way a room changes when someone important enters it, and the five quiet seconds between one planned moment and the next.
Outside of weddings, I write books, raise three children with my husband Max—whom I’ve loved since 2011—and dream about a little more land and a few horses. My life is full and rarely quiet, which may be why I’m so drawn to the fleeting moments inside important days.
At weddings, I’m calm, prepared and deeply observant. I’ll offer clear direction when it helps, quietly fix what needs fixing, and step back when the moment already knows what it’s doing.
I love considered design, meaningful places and photographs that feel polished without losing the people inside them. Because a wedding deserves to be remembered for more than how beautifully it was arranged.
