August 19 — World Photography Day. 📷
And for me, this is much more than just another date on the calendar.
On August 19, 1839, the world was officially introduced to the daguerreotype — one of the first practical photographic processes. That day, photography was essentially given to the world.
Almost two centuries have passed since then.
Cameras became digital.
Film was replaced by sensors.
And now, almost everyone carries a camera in their pocket.
But the most important thing has never changed.
We are still trying to stop time.
To preserve a look.
A smile.
A touch.
The light in someone’s eyes.
A little moment that will never happen in exactly the same way again.
That is why photography has always been so much more than just a job to me.
It is the ability to see beauty, feel a moment, and preserve a piece of someone’s story exactly as it was.
I’m endlessly grateful to photography for the people it has brought into my life, for the stories I’ve had the privilege to witness, and for teaching me to look at the world a little more carefully every day.
Happy World Photography Day! 🤍
And especially — happy World Photography Day to all of us photographers.
Keep chasing the light.
Keep capturing life. ✨
