Reservations? No Lineups.
Remember way back in 2019? Ah yes, good times, you could just show up with your children and wait in line for upwards of three hours to see Santa.
We used to see 20 to 30 families per hour back then and the lines were almost always full...and then
COVID-19 changed all of that for Santa visits in 2020.
We pivoted (not sure we like that word anymore) and made dramatic changes to maintain a safe environment for families to visit from cleaning to screening and maintaining the health of all of Santa's helpers by following safety protocols. We even had visits from Ottawa Bylaw and Ontario Labour Board officials and received passing grades.
The biggest change was to introduce online scheduling and, like the good elves that we are, we learned from those experiences. We received all kinds of feedback with one person commenting on Facebook "if they keep the reservation system in place we'll never go to a big mall to stand in line to see Santa again".
In 2021 we are able to offer 5-minute and 10-minute reserved appointments for visitors to Santa at Hazeldean Mall and Billings Bridge Shopping Centre and 5-minute reserved appointments for Mean Green Santa at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre. As part of the reservation process, you tell us more about the visitors (names, ages and things they love - Santa knowing children's names in advance is really cool, Santa knowing that what they love to do is MAGICAL) and then you prepay for the appointment type/time of your choosing. You will receive an appointment confirmation email, 12 hours prior, a reminder email,
Note: you have up to 6 hours prior to your visit to reschedule or cancel your appointment - if you cancel your appointment more than six hours in advance of your appointment time a refund will be issued within 24 hours. Refunds take at least 24 hours to process and last year, as we got closer to Christmas refunds were taking around two weeks to appear on credit card statements, but we will send you a refund notice by email when we issue it at our end.
