Way overdue in sharing these two lovebirds đź’Ť

And way overdue in sharing 99% of the sessions from this summer. So yes, September has hit, and back to school vibes are strong, and Halloween has been in the stores for over a month already, but expect to see some gorgeous golden hours over here, along with some sweet summer in home sessions.

September has hit, and so has a reflection on our first The Motherclickers Collective workshop and event 🗓️
Cohosted with Melissa | Burlington Maternity & Family Photographer + Educator back in July, we had 8 amazing photographers join us for not only 4 swoon worthy motherhood shoots, but also our 1-hour workshop on “Where Art Meets Authority.”

Watching the art roll in from all of the photographers present has been amazing, but even more striking has been seeing them put our teaching into practice đź‘Ź The posts, the guides, the email tweaks, the way they approach their sessions - all of it - has been so transformative! Not only for those 8 photographers, but also for us, confirming what we knew, that specific education with actionable steps, taught in a transparent and approachable way, is something that is valued and something that we can successfully deliver.

This is only the beginning for The Motherclickers Collective ✨ and we can’t wait to see all of the transformations and shifts to come.

A maternity session isn’t just about bump photos. It’s about freezing a feeling. The anticipation of meeting someone you already love more than you thought possible. The tenderness, the giddiness, the way you keep catching each other’s eyes and thinking, “We made this!”

August is almost gone.

Before you know it the sweaters come out, school starts, and you’re sitting there looking back at your camera roll wondering where summer went. For a lot of families, the honest answer is: it happened around them while they were busy keeping everyone alive.

This family let me tag along for the evening - at home, outside, bump full, kiddos running, summer light and all of it. No performance, no posing. We just lived in it together and I followed with my camera.

That is genuinely all you have to do. Show up as yourselves. I take care of everything else, I promise.

Nobody ever walks away from a session wishing they hadn’t done it. Not one mom, not one family. The only thing I ever hear is that they wish they’d done it sooner.

Nobody ever walks away wishing they hadn’t done it. Not one.

I’ve photographed moms who counted down the days to their session, and moms who quietly wondered if they even deserved to take up that kind of space for themselves. The feeling at the end is always the same - relief, gratitude, and a gallery full of something they’ll hold onto for the rest of their lives.

This client almost talked herself out of it. It was her last pregnancy and she wasn’t sure she wanted to do it. She booked anyway, and her words after receiving her gallery are on the slides above.

You don’t have to be ready. You don’t have to feel like you look your best or have the perfectly behaved kiddos or the picture-perfect house. You just have to come as you are - I’ll take care of the rest.

There’s a good chance you’ve pictured family photos as everyone smiling perfectly, looking at the camera, with matching outfits and cooperative kids.

But that’s not real life.

Real life is showing up a little tired. It’s wiping sticky fingers, handing out snacks, carrying a child who suddenly only wants mom, and laughing through the chaos.

And honestly? That’s exactly what I want.

When you book a family session with me, you don’t need to worry about a thing. I take care of the styling, help you choose the perfect location, and guide you every step of the way. My greenhouse sessions are warm, beautiful, and relaxed - giving your family space to simply be together.

There’s no pressure for your children to sit still or perform. I follow their lead, meet them where they’re at, and turn the session into a little adventure. The magic happens in the in-between moments: the tiny hand reaching for yours, the giggles between siblings, the cuddles you didn’t plan, and the way your child looks at you when they think no one is watching.

You keep meaning to book family photos,
but life is busy.

Someone needs a snack.
Someone has soccer.
Someone is sick.
The laundry is multiplying.

And before you know it, another year has gone by.

Here’s your reminder:

You do not need a milestone.
You do not need new outfits.
You do not need life to slow down.

You just need to decide that this season matters, too.

The first The Motherclickers Collective event is officially in the books... and it was everything!

I just had to share a photo to show how each session felt, because embodying the emotions and stories of the moment is why we are here, right!?
