Due to the heat warning in place, the City of Orillia will open air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres from July 13 to 16 for public use at:
📍 Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.)
📍Orillia Public Library (36 Mississaga St. W.)
The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted.
The City's beaches and splashpads are another great way to cool off. Lifeguard hours have been temporarily extended:
💦Couchiching Beach (140 Canice St.): Noon to 6 p.m.
💦Moose Beach (450 Atherley Rd.): 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
