🌲Merry Christmas🌲

About ten years ago, I picked up a camera more seriously.

Not long after, my father passed away.
Late 2015 quietly split my life into a before and an after.

I left Muskoka.
I landed in Orillia.
Eventually, I went all the way west to British Columbia — and years later, found my way back home again.

Through all of it, the camera came with me.

What I thought was a creative pursuit slowly became something else entirely.
The camera was a witness.
A reason to walk.
A way to keep moving when standing still felt impossible.

Looking back, I can see it clearly now:
the photography years coincided with a long interior journey — one shaped by grief, dislocation, identity loss, and what many would call the dark night of the soul.

This past year, something finally settled.

Instead of chasing the next image, my focus turned toward telling the story those images were always pointing to.

Timeless Truths: Hermetic Wisdom for the Gen-X Journey emerged from that place — not as a product, but as a record.
A reflection on loss, meaning, and the strange patterns that only reveal themselves once you’ve lived long enough to recognize them.

If you’ve followed my photography over the years, thank you.
You were walking with me — even when I didn’t fully understand where the road was leading.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas, wherever you are on your own journey.

About me

Hi, thanks for stopping by. My name is Greg and it took me a while to find my calling. My journey into photography began in 2014 with the purchase of a DSLR camera for a property inspection business I owned. Soon thereafter I bought and landscape lens and fell in love shooting nature. However when I took my hobby to the next level I quickly became a starving artist. On a whim I purchased a 50mm (nifty fifty) portrait lens and started shooting people. Soon people were offering money for that service. Portraits of all shapes and sizes became my passion. I opened a studio in Downtown Orillia but recently moved it into a lakefront home near Casino Rama. I also have added bo***ir to my portfolio.
