This little guy is an Immature Golden-crowned Kinglet. Normally they do not sit still for a second. They are cosntantly flitting around looking for Gnats and such. This one was a bit different and not near as active. After I saw the photos on my computer I saw why. It has a deformed leg and foot, poor little guy....

The theme today is Flycatchers. These birds perch them selves on a branch constantly on the lookout for bugs on the ground or in the air. When they see one they instantly fly to grab it and land again. I am so thankful they are around. I am sure the bug population would be unbearable. to give you an idea how many they catch on a given day,the Say's Phoebe will catch up to 2000 per day while a Willow Flycatcher about half of that.
