🌻 One more sunflower evening!

If you haven’t made it to the sunflower field yet, I have one more night on Thursday, August 27, from 7–8 PM — and only 3 spots left!

And this evening was such a special one with this beautiful family.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them three times over the years, so it was wonderful to see them again. They’ve since moved closer to Edmonton, but they were back in town to celebrate a very special milestone — their mom’s graduation.

Somehow, all the stars aligned. They were in town, I had a sunflower mini evening planned, and they were able to join me in the field. I’m so happy we made it happen!

Congratulations on this amazing achievement and this exciting new chapter. It was so lovely to see you all again and capture these memories together. 🌻

Last night was one of those little evenings that filled my cup. 🌻

Sunflower Minis can be tricky to organize in the middle of summer. Everyone has vacations, camping trips, plans… and last-minute sessions are not always easy to fill.

But that one family who came completely made my night

The light was beautiful, the sunflowers were glowing, and there was something so nice about slowing down, photographing, laughing, and just enjoying the evening.

Sometimes you don’t need a full schedule to have a perfect night.

Sometimes one family is enough to fill your cup.

P.S. These photos were taken by my husband a few days ago, who was very patient with me while I said, “Just one more!” about millions times. 😂 . So I got a little something for myself too — a few new headshots. Because, apparently, the photographer needs photos of herself once in a while too.

Anna’s grad session was so special.

I’ve known this beautiful girl since she was just 9 years old, and watching her grow into the gorgeous young woman she is today has been so incredible.

She is full of ideas, dreams, and hope for the future. Her love and dedication to everything she does is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that she has an amazing journey ahead of her.

Anna, I’m so excited to see where life takes you. Keep dreaming big, keep being curious, and keep putting your heart into everything you do.

Congratulations, beautiful girl. You have so much ahead of you.

The sunflowers are blooming, summer is still here, and it’s the perfect time to capture it!

I’m offering Sunflower Mini Sessions on August 22 & 27, with sessions available from 6:30–8:30 PM.

Sometimes I honestly wonder how we manage to fit so many different hats into one person.

The last few days have been a little bit of everything:

Delivered 2 branding sessions.
Sorted out another branding session.
Set up last-minute sunflower minis.
Answered approximately a million emails.
Went to the registry with my parents to help them get Alberta IDs so we can apply for the Seniors Dental Care program.
Booked two dental appointments for the kids.
Worked a day at the farm.
Went to a staff dance party.
And somehow still made time for something I actually enjoy — tea and painting.

And now I’m sitting here thinking… okay, I guess I need to set up fall minis too. 😂

Photographer. Mom. Daughter. Farm worker. Business owner. Organizer. Friend.

And somewhere in between all of that, just trying to be a human being.

I know I’m not the only one.

We see so much online about routines, productivity and “having it all together,” but sometimes life is just switching between 15 tabs in your brain and hoping you remembered the important ones.

So if you’re feeling behind, overwhelmed, or like you’re not doing enough — maybe you’re actually doing A LOT.

You don’t need to perfectly balance every part of your life every day.

Some days, getting everything done is enough.

And some days, going for tea and painting is just as important as answering that email.

Now… back to those fall minis. 🍂
