I had a great experience at Long Point Bird Observatory. It was my first time seeing the bird banding process, and it was really interesting to watch. Getting to see the birds up close and learn how they are carefully handled and studied made it even more special. lifer for me, which made the day even more memorable.

Today marked the last day of the Backyard Bird Count, and I decided to spend some quiet time around the University of Guelph Arboretum. The winter air was crisp, and the trails felt calm and peaceful. I walked slowly, listening carefully, hoping for one more special sighting before the count ended.Just when I least expected it, there it was — an Eastern Towhee! A bird I had been wishing to see. Watching it move through the brush was such a rewarding moment. A perfect ending to a wonderful bird count experience. Days like this remind me why I love birding so much. .canada
