That stupid Steve thing.

Meet Steve. Not to be confused with the northern lights, 'Steve' is an exciting phenomenon that happens when electrically-charged particles in the sun collide with magnetic energy found in Earth’s atmosphere. It’s about 26 km wide with a temperature of 10,800 degrees Fahrenheit. In other words: Steve is tall, hot, colourful, and really photogenic.

The Athabasca Glacier along the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park is one of my favourite spots to visit. It is unfortunate to see the glacier recede due to our changing environments but it has left some of the most beautiful ice caves at the toe of the glacier every year. Each time I go the changing glacier reminds me of something living that is always shifting creating a new experience each and every time.
