Newly engaged? Planning to include your dog on your wedding day?

Those tend to be my favourites.

To kick off 2026 here are a few of my favourite photos of dogs and rings.

If your dog is part of your story – walking the aisle, holding the rings, or quietly keeping an eye on things – I’m always happy to build space for them into your wedding day. Calmly, safely, and without turning it into a circus.

I photograph a small number of weddings each year, which lets me be flexible and present on the day – especially when four-legged family members are involved.

As I wrap up the year that was 2025 and start looking ahead, I want to take a moment to thank Sanjoy Shubro.

Sanjoy second shot with me for the first time in 2023, and we had the chance to work together again in 2025. Every time, he’s shown up as exactly the kind of photographer you want working with you on a wedding day.

He’s technically excellent, calm under pressure, reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely kind – a real professional. He pays attention. He cares about the work. He goes the extra mile without needing to be asked.

Sanjoy moved to Newfoundland a couple of years ago and brought with him a level of experience and professionalism that is truly world-class. I’m grateful every time our paths cross.

Launching in 2026.... After nearly 20 years promoting Shawn Taylor Photography as a wedding brand, I’ll still be taking a limited number of wedding couples each year…but I’m finally building something that isn’t based on my name alone.

Before I head into the holiday hibernation around these parts, I wanted to share a quick thank you to everyone for an incredible year - and a look ahead at where things are going.

2025 was packed with amazing people, beautiful weddings, wild locations, new venues, a Downhome Magazine cover feature, the Clarenville Burger Battle, where I got to work with Nerdy Newfie and Big D - I mean I got to photograph Mike Lynch and Meteorologist Eddie Sheerr even commented on one of my photos - 2025 had some great meetups with fellow photogs, and lead to some of my favourite images I’ve ever created.

2025 marked 20 years and more than 800 weddings.
With that milestone reached, I’m shifting how I work - moving forward, I’m only booking 10 weddings per year.

For 2026, I have 3 spots left.
For 2027, I have 5 spots left.
And the 2028 season opens January 1.

If you want to be one of my ten wedding couples, reach out and we’ll set up a time to Zoom or grab a coffee in the new year.

I’m also excited to be launching two different weekend photography workshops here in Newfoundland in 2026.

Moving forward, I’ll be focusing even more on guided photo tours and creative weekend getaway workshops for photographers.
