What is a flat lay?
It’s a carefully styled photograph of the small, meaningful wedding details. Instead of photographing the bride and groom, it captures the objects that represent them and the day: invitations, rings, jewelry, flowers, perfume, stationery, and other personal touches. The best flat lays aren’t necessarily the ones with the most things. They’re the ones where every item has a reason for being there and helps tell the couple’s story.
It’s also an opportunity to preserve sentimental details that may not be easily photographed later. Once the flowers are arranged, the vows are read, and the rings are on your fingers, those details may never look exactly the same again.
