The Sparwood Trails Alliance calendar contest is closed. Due to a lack of entries we will not be continuing on with this project.

For reference I had offered to build a calendar free of charge to help the STA with a fundraiser opportunity with members sending in photos for possible use. With lack of entries the calendar idea is now off the table.

Perhaps a future year and members will make one.

I have had time to unwind and re-evaluate my business and going forward I will not be offering a calendar anymore except for myself and maybe a few lucky friends. The work that goes in and the honest profit of maybe $2 just doesn't make business sense anymore.

Another product I am stopping for now is family photos. I will again do the odd family sessions for friends and family but right now that isn't where i want to grow my business. I want to get back to what I love about photography and grow myself with stronger character portraits and projects that spark creativity.

This is hard to admit and say and honestly I am so grateful for those I have been able to work with but no longer will be offering on a regular basis.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and hopefully you will with all the changes and continue to show up and love what I share.

To all my new followers thank you for following me and I hope you love what this page is all about.

Every vote means the world, I know I'm just a small business and have always been a one woman operation. I show up to each session with all my heart and soul and putting yourself out there creative wise is never easy. It's actually the hardest part.

Finally had time to edit photos from the Sparwood Legion 100th anniversary party back in July. The Banned put on one heck of a show and rocked the party and kept us all dancing the night away.

I have been a bit quiet and this is why, we have moved the whole family to central Alberta. It's been a huge change, we have had a lot of ups and downs and hard challenges.

Doing my best to keep social media alive but my heart hasn't been in it. Why do we need the constant pressure of keeping up on social media? Why can't we just share things we love and eff the haters and try to get a million likes. What about just sharing, unedited unfiltered real life beauty?

Yesterday was world photography day and with all the chaos of moving I didn't have time to post.

Photography has been a part of my life for over 15 years, I grew up with film and the start of the digital age. I fell in love with Ansel Adams work and that with a love of nature got me going into photography.

Now I am someone who photographs the different, I don't go for pretty all the time or do I do nature all the time. I love things that interest me, it could be a light hitting a flower or interesting shapes. I also love photographing interesting individuals and my kids.

Photography has been a passion and love that has stayed no matter what has happened. With this move, once again I'm struggling and I haven't picked up my camera since my Character Workshop in Aug. I'm at such a loss right now and everything is out of control

Anyways, I want to thank all the photographers who have inspired me, even if they don't know it. I am so thankful to Dave Brosha for his passion to teach, help and guide photographers on their journey. I snapped this photo to test what it would look like in monochrome and asked him if he would kindly step in.
