I have fond memories from when I was their age, picking out the birthday cake I wanted my mom to bake from a recipe book - and wanting it to look just like the photo! We have a kids recipe book, gifted by mom a few years ago, that has been a bedtime “story” favourite over the years (I prefer to read actual stories, not recipes, but hey), and the kids have been wanting to bake this cake for awhile now, so we made it happen! A combined effort, some did more eating than baking, but it was a special way to celebrate my sweet and silly 7 year old! Birthday portraits in the yard that get sillier by the year 🤪

Most of what I’ve been shooting lately I don’t have permission to share (which I’m totally fine with by the way!), so here is a throwback to this beautiful Summer wedding from last year. It may have taken me a year to share these, but it feels just like yesterday that these two said ‘I do’ and celebrated the night away!

My Remi girl is 7 today! Proudly missing 3 teeth now, the queen of silly faces, you love to dress up, dance, sing, climb, draw and read! This last year you soared through Grade 1, working hard to master the monkey bars and flips on the climber, your swimming has improved so much and you’ve gained so much confidence - performing in a Christmas play and a mini dance show for Summer camp despite the nerves. I love you so much sweet girl, you bring so much joy to our family - and your brother and Granny adore you! Declaring God’s blessing and joy over you as you continue to adventure with Him! Some snaps and some shots from a “a photo shoot location” that you asked me to take you to for birthday pics!

We had such fun celebrating this joyful boy last week! That and thankfully what turned out to be only a precautionary trip to the ER via ambulance (Praise Jesus for protection and that kids are bouncy 🙌🏻).

My boy is 5 years old today! You light up our home, and bring joy to so many around you! ‘Kind-hearted Kaleo’ as your teacher calls you, you are so thoughtful and love to help out - especially with mowing the lawn and shovelling snow! You love all things ‘army’ and ‘construction’, riding your bike, jumping and hanging upside-down off anything you can, learning to swim and learning about animals. I love you so much, my buddy, and can’t wait for another year of fun and adventure! So grateful to God for you! Swipe to see the sweetest little freckles appearing ❤️

Last day of Grade 1 and JK today! I had to take a moment to document Remi’s lost teeth / social tooth that’s on the way out, bruises from all the climbing and hanging on the monkey bars and Kaleo’s war wounds (he’s fine, thankfully). I’m so proud of these kiddos and the way they have grown this past year. Thank you Lord for bringing us through another year! Bring on the Summer and more adventures with these two!
