With the longer, sunnier, warmer days upon us, there are a few important things to consider when planning your family session.
1. Time of day: The best time to shoot is during “golden hour,” which in the summer months lands pretty late in the evening — usually around 8pm. This can make things a little tricky with young kids, but don’t worry, I have some acrobatic tricks up my sleeve ;)
2. Consider your location when choosing outfits: If you’re wanting a beachy vibe, lean into cooler tones like blues, corals, denim, and soft neutrals. If you’re dreaming of a golden field or farm-style setting, warmer tones like creams, browns, rusts, and burgundy photograph beautifully.
3. Think about how your photos will fit in your home: If you’re an overthinker like me, choosing a location that complements your home aesthetic can make a big difference. For example, if your home has warm tones and earthy decor, a golden field may flow more naturally than a cool-toned beach setting.
4. I’m always here to help: Whether you need outfit guidance, colour palette ideas, or help choosing the perfect location, I’m always happy to chat and help bring your vision together
