Can you tell she was surprised 😍

This was with all their friends on top of a mountain they just hiked. He even brought a dress up for her in his backpack for photos the next morning 🥲

My partner is the Alpine Club of Canada hut custodian for Silverspray Hut, so it worked out so naturally for me to capture this!

Have photographed weddings in some pretty amazing places, but then there’s Essaouira Morocco 🥲

Thank you Omar Merouane and Jenny Dueck for trusting us, feeding us, and saying yes even when the morning of the wedding one of you may have decided you didn’t want to take these photos after all 🤪

Filmy photos but for reaaal

Unedited analog film scans 🎞️

Shooting a few rolls of film alongside digital is such a nice way to add some keepsakes to the day. Shooting with 3 cameras certainly keeps me busy haha but impressed myself how accurate the exposures were without being able to look at the screen 🙃 felt refreshing to go back to film.. and a little vulnerable, but happy with how they came out ♥️

Turkey was never on my list of places to go. I didn’t know much about it and I would choose a trip to Asia every time over Europe. But a couple months ago I saw a post from an old yoga friend I met in India, Courtney, looking for a retreat photographer there. She was hosting it, “Awaken from Within”and it sounded magical. It was only a few weeks but that added some excitement.. I reached out. Within a day I had a flight to Turkey. And all of a sudden I was in Cappadocia, with a little community of Americans(& 1 Canadian!) I didn’t know. It’s a delicate experience, being fully present while capturing intimate moments through trust and vulnerability. It worked out so much better than I could have imagined. What a connecting experience, wonderful people and a powerful guide.

***I also learned turkey is actually pretty much entirely Asia and not Europe 😆🤪

Genuinely recommend doing a retreat with Courtney somewhere in the world - she has a beautiful way of creating a community, a safe place to be yourself, and making you feel loved and included. I can only hope to photograph more of her retreats and see some of the new friends I made there 🌎

Here are a few photos from the retreat 🤍

There’s always some chaos/crying/pouting during family sessions.. but somehow it still always works out 😆
