June 12 wasn’t just another match to photograph. Watching these guys walk onto the pitch for Canada’s first home World Cup game, surrounded by the people who believed in them long before the world did, was emotional in a way that’s hard to put into words. Some fought their way back from injury. Some fought for their place every single camp. All of them sacrificed more than most people will ever see. Being trusted to capture those moments is something I’ll never take for granted, but what I’m most grateful for is getting to know these guys beyond the game. To see their resilience, their humility, their character and that very special bond they share.
