I have poutine, bagels and the Montreal Canadiens running through my blood. Living in a city that has a blend of European and modern architecture, festivals that run all year long, and is a multicultural hub for the culinary arts, it's no wonder I carry a camera around my neck. My parents taught me early on about the joys and pleasures of traveling, history and culture, and how to simply appreciat

e my surroundings. My passion for capturing moments might as well be attributed to these valuable lessons. Through my photography, my goal is to immortalize images that are captivating, timeless and tell a story. I take pictures of pretty much everything. From landscapes and cityscapes, to food, fashion, portraits, real estate, even family and corporate events. The past year has marked tremendous growth for me, having much of my work featured by major local influencers such as MTLBlog, the Montreal Gazette, LiveMontreal, Narcity Montreal, and the Huffington Post Quebec, just to name a few. In addition to these accomplishments, I’ve been named by both Montreall.com and MtlShot as one of Montreal’s top Instagram accounts to follow. And this is all just the beginning.

As if Montréal wasn’t already one of the most beautiful cities, Whatisadam (WIA) just gave us another reason to wander.

His newest mural is a reminder that the city’s best moments aren’t always the ones you plan for. Sometimes they’re waiting around the next corner.

Merrell invited us to become tourists in our own Montreal. We slowed down, wandered downtown, and paid attention to the architecture, the small details, and the stories hidden in streets I’ve walked hundreds of times before.

I spent the day in the Moab Speed 2, a shoe that felt made for the way I shoot. Light enough to keep moving and rugged enough to step off the sidewalk whenever a frame called for it. Sometimes getting the shot means climbing over a curb, standing in a puddle, or finding an angle most people walk past.

We wrapped the evening at Sora 45 overlooking the city, with cocktails, great conversation, and a talk from local artist Whatisadam (WIA) about his work and his relationship with Montreal.

A reminder that sometimes the best way to experience your own city is to slow down and see it like it’s your first time.
