I spent six weeks in South Sudan for Médecins Sans Frontières in March 2025 and I do manage to post about it before 2026.
From dusty roads in an MSF Land Cruiser to soaring over the savannah in a tiny MSF plane, this mission was unforgettable.
I visited projects in Aweil and Kajo Keji, where teams work tirelessly in maternity wards, emergency rooms, and tuberculosis programs.
I saw the fight against malnutrition, the hope in physiotherapy, and the resilience of communities living in conflict-affected areas under the blazing 45°C heat.
A huge respect and thank you (even to you .paula) to all the colleagues I met there.

Here's a tiny glimpse of what I witnessed.

Geo Barents Rotation 58 was full of contrasts. Part IV

Flat sea & high waves, sadness & joy, welcomes & goodbyes, day & night, life & death.

It was so filled with moments worth sharing that I decided to make four posts.

In a very brief brief recap. After two days of bad weather, the sea became still and we performed our first rescue at 1h30 AM, right in front of the GB, not far from Libyan waters. 37 people were rescued. Five hours later, we rescued more than one hundred people in distress aboard a rubber boat.

After being informed of several bodies found floating in the sea, we went looking for them to retrieve as many as we could. Our team managed to find and retrieve 11.

During this retrieval operation, by chance, we came across another boat in distress and 19 people were rescued.

In front of Lampedusa, Italy, the 11 bodies were transferred to the Italian Coast Guard.

With 165 survivors aboard, we had to sail all the way north to Genova, wasting time and facing some more high waves and wind.

Tiny glimpse of our MSF team MSF team of the Search and Rescue Mission on the Geo Barents for its 57th rotation at sea.
It ended with two successful rescues and happily uneventful disembarkation in Salerno two days after.
Sincerely glad to be part of this team.

My own little 2019 recap in pictures I took that I like and/or mean something for me.

1. Dhaka, Bangladesh. March
Going to Bangladesh for Chobi Mela, seeing some friends and starting new projects. I was touched by visiting the shipyards of Dhaka and got reminded much of Salgado's own work there.

2. Kathmandu, Nepal. June
I went back again to Nepal this time to live there for almost 5 months.

3 & 4. Pokhara, Nepal. June to September.
I spent 3 months in Pokhara with for doing an internship to complete my masters degree as well as a photo assignment which ended in a small booklet.

5. Pokhara, Nepal, June.
One of my favorite photos of I ❤️ Nepal, my new photobook I published during the year.

6. Sindhuli, Nepal, September
During an assignment with covering a local partner organization supporting Dalit women. This picture was then published on the front page of the Cahier Special in

7. I ❤️ Nepal

8. Angkor Wat, Cambodia, December.
I had the opportunity to visit and have an amazing time meeting so many incredible photographers and catch up with friends. Even had time to visit the beautiful temples of Angkor.

9. Gaspésie, Québec. December.
Came back home in Quebec, visited my family in beautiful Gaspésie and finally got cold weather after months in Asia. Also settled down officially in Montreal in a new flat :)

Happy new year to all!
